The trained pharmacist Willi Dix founds the company Dixa-Werke in Rorschach in 1916. It specialises in the wholesale of spice plants and drugs. Today, we would simply say that he sold herbs.

1950
DIXA makes it through the challenges of the war years thanks to the dedication of all its employees, and experiences healthy growth in the post-war era. As a result, work begins on a new warehouse in 1956. Trade in herbs and spices flourishes.

1968
In 1968, Reto Wild, David Eduard Wild’s son, joins the company. Side by side, they overcome the challenging economic conditions of the 1970s, triggered by the oil crisis.
1994
The markets are changing constantly, but DIXA sticks to its commitment of making top-quality products. Ongoing investment, including in labs and IT, allow it to receive ISO 9001 certification and organic certification in 1994. Additional certifications follow as time goes on.

2005
Kennel AG has been working with herbs since 1934. It has held an organic certification since 1996, is a BIO-Suisse licensee, and is a firm believer in the importance of encouraging organic herb farming, particularly in the Swiss Alps. Outstanding knowledge of organic products and close relationships with organic producers on the ground guarantee impeccable organic quality. As a result, it is constantly producing high-quality, innovative organic products.

2010
When Reto Wild passes away unexpectedly in December 2009, Bettina Wild and Stefan Postl step into the world of herbs and spices.

2017
A diverse range created over a century as Switzerland’s natural manufacturer: exquisite herbs and spices from around the world are processed with the utmost care at DIXA, turning raw materials into high-quality products. The world has changed, but DIXA’s wide range is here to stay.

2025
After around 15 years as owners and managing directors, Bettina Wild and Stefan Postl sell their shares in the operational business of Dixa AG, and the Swiss manufacturer of herbs and spices is becoming part of the Schütte Group (www.jgs.de).
Joh. Gottfr. Schütte GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1792 as a trading company and is one of the oldest medium-sized foreign trade companies in Bremen. The company’s business extends to the import of spices and herbs, honey, tea and various non-food consumer goods from all over the world.
The family business is now run by Michael F. Schütte and Johann G. Smidt, the 7th and 8th generation of owners.
